Hashtags put conversations in the right sections

Add a hashtag for any available topic or city in your post. For example, #Jobs #Helsinki puts the same conversation in those sections too. You can use several hashtags; letter case does not matter. Keep each hashtag together, with no spaces.

Hashtagged posts in public groups also appear in matching wall sections and All Finland. They stay in their group with the same replies and reactions. Open the group to join; only joined members can reply or react to its posts.

City sections describe what the conversation is about, regardless of where the author lives. All Finland includes all cities. You can also choose a conversation city when posting.

Hashtags never change who can see a post. Private groups, friends-only posts and Only me posts keep their access rules. Posts awaiting approval stay hidden from other members. Editing or removing a hashtag updates its matching sections.

Find conversations

Use the topic chips, search by name or content, and sort newest or oldest first. My posts shows your posts. Friends shows accepted friends; My Interests filters a topic and optional conversation city; My Groups opens a group’s wall. Global Connections is for conversations across countries.

Open All Finland and choose a city to find conversations about that city. Choose All Finland again to show all cities. When posting or editing your own post, use Conversation city to choose what city it is about, regardless of where you live. Existing visibility, moderation and group membership rules still apply; choosing a city does not make a private post public.

Available cities: Helsinki, Espoo, Tampere, Vantaa, Oulu, Turku, Jyväskylä, Kuopio, Lahti, Pori.

Native Android reading

The native Android wall reader opens the same conversations from Ask or Share. Sign in. Use the top Search and Filters icons to search by name or content, choose source-listed topics or conversation cities, and set the sort order. The All, Friends (Finland) and My posts chips select the feed. Topic badges use the configured website labels; the reply bubble counts only replies visible to you and opens the conversation. Use Next page to continue. Feed Refresh is inside Filters; conversation and editor pages also offer Refresh directly. Refresh returns to the first page and checks current visibility. My posts includes your posts awaiting approval. Finland requires Finland residency; Global Connections requires sign-in and an enabled service. Friends, blocks, private groups and moderation keep their website rules. Photos appear with their conversation. Open photo lets you zoom and pan; Close photo returns to reading. Opening or retrying a photo checks the same visibility, membership, region and moderation rules again. Formatted text and links are supported; links open in their usual app. Tap Pin it in Android to compose a message, choose a source-listed topic or city, select Public, Friends or Only me, choose a display name where allowed, and attach a JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP photo (up to 5 MB and 8 megapixels (4096 pixels per side)). Pending pins and replies remain visible to their author until approved. Open an approved conversation to reply, reply to a reply or react; choose the same reaction again to remove it. Retry submission uses the same identifier so an interrupted upload cannot create a second copy. Share link opens the phone’s share sheet and sends only an access-controlled link, not private text or photos. Recipients still need the website’s required access. Public group conversations routed onto the wall accept replies and reactions only from current group members. Join or manage groups on the website; private group browsing remains in the group service. The persistent bottom dock shows the region, category, service and current screen. Tap its logo, location path or up arrow to reopen the wheel and change service; its account icon opens login or your profile. Unconfirmed submissions retain their identifier while the app remains open, so check the outcome before starting another submission.

Read and participate

Switch between the classic list and pinup layout. Open a pin to read its full conversation. React with an emoji or use Reply to join a discussion. Long discussions can be searched, sorted and browsed a page at a time. Share a post using its share button.

The Services wheel opens subcategories beside the category you choose. Menus with one or two services use a smaller arc, and long labels wrap onto separate lines. On phones, choose services from the compact button list.

Choose a service link to open its page. The wheel closes after activating the link; some services require you to sign in before continuing.

Website appearance

An administrator can choose the website theme. Colours and fonts may look different; only the Full design theme adapts spacing and columns on phones. About-inspired styling changes colours and fonts, keeping the existing layout, controls and phone behavior. Consistent styling and Full design use a lighter blue-green website background; About-inspired uses warm ivory and forest green. Your list or pinup choice, note colours, posting controls, group membership and who can see each conversation stay the same. Use this info button whenever you need help.

Default-consistent uses the default Home background across pages without changing controls or layouts. Every website theme checks readability, using dark text on light surfaces and light text on dark surfaces so labels, hints and conversations remain readable. Note colours and who can see or participate in a conversation are unchanged.

Posting options and moderation

More options lets you add an image, pick a card colour, choose visibility, and set your display name where available. The post menu lets you edit or delete your own posts. Pending approval means a moderator must review it before others see it. Guest replies, where enabled by the author, always need approval.
